    Default Visars

How many of you out there are still messing around with visars? They are neat little radios. I mostly use mine if I'm cross banding or on the local repeaters.

I really wish someone would make a aftermarket battery that will fit properly in the plastic holster.

Unfortunately, my UHF Visar seems to suffer from a bit of microphonics, as well as a weird bug that causes it to power up with some sort of error every once in a while. The combination of the pressure-fit case and the flex cable within is a recipe for disaster once the flex gets brittle

As far as batteries, I found a battery on eBay that does great for capacity (lasts forever!) but I don't have a holster so I can't say whether it fits or not.

I had one with a similar issue with the microphonics. I have an extra holster if you want it. Just pay shipping.

For your micrphonics, clean and tighten all your metal on metal contracts and the ground tabs, then solder all the adjacent shields together.
