The only source is Motorola. You can call them at 1-800-422-4210, or you can go through a dealer like Sandy's Communications.

Right. It would make too much sense to advertise essential products like "firmware update" on the same website as the product itself -- much like cameras, GPS receivers, televisions and other products.

Motorola intentionally makes it difficult to do business with them. Notice there's no pricing or direct ordering options, either. They intentionally make it difficult to contact them (notice the lack of contact information in the product listing(s)). You can try emailing Jeff jeff AT sandyscomm.com and asking for a quote, or you can seek alternate upgrade sources such as myself, Neo or anyone else on the forum who is able to assist you.

Motorola should be ashamed at how pathetic their website and support resources are.

Mars, Neo or I would be more than happy to upgrade your radios if Motorola is unwilling to help you.

For anyone that is hesitant about sending their radios out to some guy on a website, I can fully vouch for Mars and his services. Sent him 3 radios to be upgraded, all were done super quick and work perfectly upon return to me.

+1 for me too (and I dare say anyone else who Mars has helped out)

Not saying anything against anyone else offering their services, but giving Mars your business also helps with the running expenses of this forum, he is after all...
