P25 trunking authentication key load on a NX-5900

Okay, I guess this is applicable to any of the NX-5000 mobiles, but anyway...

A customer just brought me a NX-5900 mobile to authenticate on our system. They have the correct cable (KPG-115AUT, connects to the KVL4000's serial port) but I have no idea how to put the radio into authentication key load mode. There is a button press power-on procedure for the NX-5400 portable, but I only saw it performed once and don't remember what that was either. And, of course, this isn't documented in any manual that I have access to...

Normally I would never send anyone here over to RR to ask a question like this. If you do not get an answer here, ask on RR, kd4efm seems to know the NX-5xxx series pretty well.

So, we figured out that you press and hold the button next to the home key while powering on and it puts you in the service menu. Got into the authentication menu, the KVL can see the radio, all good... and then it bombs consistently with a comm error. "Unexpected communication with the radio..."

If anyone has successfully done this I'd love to hear from them. When we did the portable it worked without a hitch once we could access the key load menu.

Do you have the NX-5000 P25 Function manual?
I haven't tried doing this, but I've got the manuals on it, I'd be happy to assist if you'd like.

No, all I have is the basic user manual. I also don't have KPG-D1N and have to borrow a laptop any time I work with these things. Customer was also using a multi-deck setup which created its own set of issues.

Thanks, but why to do not use any file exchange service? 4sync, dropbox, sendspace? A lot of people will be glad to get. And it's not paid or NDA item. So, just upload and share a link. Thanks in advance!

Sure, I can drop box it. I'm new here, so wasn't sure what the rules were about this sort of stuff.
