Exclamation MotoTRBO Permanent Monitor - bug or feature?

    Hi all!

Just noticed that Permanent Monitor feature on MotoTRBO (Gen 2/2.5) radios only works if tone (Squelch Type) specified for both RX and TX freqs! LOL. You can't listen air ambient noise or weak signals of there is no TX tone specified (CSQ Squelch Type).

What is this? Bug or feature?

R02.07.03.0000 FW. I know that it's not the latest, but not far from.

Wouldn't that behavior be dependent upon the setting for Monitor Type under General Settings being set to Open Squelch?

You are correct. Only problem is there is no 'momentary' monitor setting, so open squelch STAYS open with that button press until you PTT.

Of course, it's set to Open Squelch. Try by yourself and you will see.

For a moment there I thought you found a bug to make the radio go into promiscuous mode

I'll play with this tomorrow and identify the behavior with all the various iterations of radios I have on the bench.
