    Default Stolen APX6000

Today, an APX 6000 was stolen from a parked vehicle in Wichita, KS. The radio belonged to a member of the SWAT team, and was inhibited this morning. Apparently the person wasn't very smart and after the radio sent the acknowledgement of the inhibit command(A0 00 A4 00 FF FF FD 0A E8 C9 15 26 Acknowledge Response of Extended Function Response for I 0AE8C9 acks I FFFFFD), it subsequently registered/affiliated and unaffiliated with the system multiple times within five minutes as if the suspect didn't know why the screen was blank. If anyone locates a suspicious looking offer, please reply and I will let the proper detectives know.

Just as an aside, where are the logs like this stored/accessed?

Looks like a Harris system. Moto systems don't log raw data at that level, even in the ATIA logs.

VESTA perhaps? You can also get that off of the GenWatch activity module running with a OTA source.

The system was originally built out by Cassidian, which turned into Airbus DS Communications who are now owned by Motorola as you all probably know.

The text I posted was from the logs written by Unitrunker just from an SDR that runs 24/4 on my home computer.

You could reactivate it and dynamically regroup/selector inhibited it to a spare TG on the console. You might get the goofball who stole it to reveal his location. Patch a bit of traffic to get his attention when it turns up, then entice him with a "reward". Play CB'er and act like you want to buy his radio since it is already on your channel.

I already suggested regrouping it to an unused group and initiating a radio monitor, and then use the radio shops Anritsu to attempt to locate it on the -45 input. Not sure that's going to happen even though it would be satisfying to find them that way.

Every radio shop needs a Doppler DF unit.

Just a few more details please.

I just took a quick look at RR and I'm guessing this is part of the KSICS system? So 7/800mhz then? I'm guessing black case if it's SWAT? Model 1.5, 2.5 or 3.5? If the spaz doesn't know what it is or have the capability to do it, I'm guessing they won't do anything to change what it looks like, probably just dump it in a pawn shop...

We've solved several car burglaries with offer up and let go recently. Do a google advanced search every day or so.

Also watch LEADSONLINE if you think it'll end up at a pawnshop.

Wrong geographic region but looks suspicious for reasons that should be apparent.

I saw this as well, and I came to the same conclusion. I don't understand how someone could look at that and not be suspicious.

Same here. That was the first one I came across on there after I read this thread.

If the appropriate parties aren't already aware they will be shortly.
