    Default What is this?

So we're picking up the keys to our new system in Elgin, and of course we take the tour of the plant. MSI had a display with the APX line, a 6 pack and a unit I've never seen before. It is a TML M30, Any idea what it's function is? 20180525_101934.jpg
Yes, I worked for the radio shop.
Yes, I am building a new P25 network.
No, I will not program your radio.
No, I will not program your scanner.
No, I won't tell you about the new system.

    Now what was your question?

I agree, some type of Mfr. ATE or QC testing equipment, probably. Definitely has the XTL or APX series look to it. Too bad you didn't get an end-on shot of the top panel, that might have provided more clues.

Looks militaryish.. especially with the housing extending up top past the controls and connectors to protect them. Also an awful fancy housing design for an internal piece.

With the 3 BNC ports on top it looks similar to some of the cellular jammers Ive seen.

Also kinda looks like the MANET mesh broadband stuff the military/feds are starting to propose for use. They look like the configuration in your picture and are meant to be relays. Then there are "portable" units that are like military MBITR size that are the terminals or radios. Who knows... maybe Motorola is trying to get their name thrown in the MANET arena since its millions to be spent on these systems.

I did the tour of the old facility in Schaumburg back in 2013 and there was nothing even remotely similar to that on display. I wonder if it was left out by mistake?
