Exclamation Looking for Motorola DIU3000's handset internal photos

    Hi all!

I am starting new thread about internals used in DIU3000's test handset, known as CDN6209 / CDN6209A. Looks like it's rare stuff because was factory option C109A/C109AA ($55 additionally), and not part of standard DIU set. And even the whole systems that pop-ups on eBay, come with no one test handset! Moreover, it's impossible to find picture of this handset! Wow!

Anyway, I am not giving up, and want to create similar handset from other aftermarket handset by using Motorola cartridges (transmitter as minimum), because I have some of them. But now this is the most complicated part of this "project".

My plays with other standard handsets (Walker, Plantronics, Avaya, etc.), which equipped with electret mics, showed poor TX audio quality. Particularly, clipping when DIU's gain set to 8-9, and weak signal with some distortion, when set to 6-5 or below. I can suppose that it's mic issue and can be fixed by using original handset, because it's equipped with dynamic transmitter element (supposedly dynamic and supposedly Shure).

This is the reason why I am looking for good pictures of genuine elements (cartridges) used in CDN6209 handset.

Also, if you have this handset(s) but don't have time, I will be glad to buy it/them. In this case, please visit my WTB thread or PM me.

    Thanks in advance!

I know the handset from the old Motorola RCH3000 deskset (made by GAI-Tronics) works with the DIU. The handset from the newer MC3000 doesn't work with the DIU, at least as wired from the factory. I can't really say how good the audio quality was with the RCH3000 handset, as I only used it for quick functional testing.

Thanks, but this is not genuie handset, but aftermarket and not designed for DIU3000. Also, I can suppose, that it's similar to Walker/Plantronics. I am defenetely not liooking for something like this.

Good to know, but I have only DGT9000 handset. I will check it for compatibility (I completely forgot about it).

Could you please show a part of it? Because in my Motorola published list I see only CDN6209 / CDN6209A for $55.00.

This is from the 2012 ecat. This was in the refurbished DIU3000

    Description Nomenclature APC Price
    HANDSET BLACK WITH 3 FOOT CORD DS457162 207 $128.00

The DS is Drop Ship, the 457162 is a Tessco part number. I have ordered extra handsets from Tessco directly. Works fine.
