    Default OUCH... (XPR7550)

Jumped on an eBay XPR7550. Unit looked really good and the price was too good to be true. Upon further inspection this radio got bitch slapped.

RF board is cracked and the entire housing is bent.

Buying radios on eBay is getting riskier by the minute but buyer protection will keep you safe. I had to return my last three buys.

Absolutely. Hopefully the seller can strike a deal. I asked him if he has any non damaged replacements. If not refund it is.

It is sad to say this same type of mentality (hidden damage and deliberate ripping off) is starting to show up at some ham flea markets. All I can say to such people is.. at a flea markets often the buyer is not unfamiliar with the radios and are not going to react well to being screwed over. They have the unit in their hands and if it is messed up in some way they find out about it within hours and you can bet they are going to come back. I often have a laptop and cable with me and if I cannot read the unit for what ever reason I am walking away.

On the other hand I was at a flea market and bought several units the seller openly admitted to having issues with. We settled on an a acceptable price. I took the units did the necessary repairs and alignment and was able to resurrect the units and resell them to a local club at a good price.
