Default Astro Spectra Plus Interface to Allstar Node

    Hello to the group,

I have an Astro Spectra Plus dash mount that I am using as a control station, that I would like to use to interface to external devices (AllStar and IRLP), where PTT, COR and TX/RX audio is required. Is there a way to accomplish this without hacking into the command board and wiring in a pigtail?

The basic service manual shows all the lines necessary should be on the rear DA-15 connector, but "only for dash mount configurations."

I moved the 4 jumpers on the command board described on page 7-3 in the detailed service manual, to configure it so the accessory port pins are "NOT for RS-232 operation," but it still does not go into PTT and the BUSY line does not go active.

I am wondering if there is something particular in the flash code, or codeplug, that would prevent the rear accessory connector from working in "NON RS-232 Mode" ???

Can anybody shed some light on this situation?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

    Regards,

    John

    Take a look at this:

You're not going to get COR out of the radio without Radio Additional Modification #1. You can ignore #2, but double check that the chip jumper mods in 3-5 are in place.

I've used both Plus and non-Plus Astro Spectras as AllStar remote base radios interfaced to URIs, and can confirm that with these mods they will work.
