    bang Dual Head APX7500

I have a dual head APX7500 that does not recognize the rear heads and gives me a CH ID# error that shuts the radio down.

If I disconnect the rear head, the radio will boot up fine on one head, but it says "Missing Control Head" and continues to operate.

In the CPS, 2 heads are expected, and boot without heads is disabled.

An intercom menu button is programmed, and a F/R menu button is programmed, but I assume that the F/R button will not show up until it can recognize both heads.

This is a new, blank radio. The default factory empty codeplug did have dual heads checked.

    Any ideas?

Did you change the control head ID on each head?

These are O5 heads. I cannot find anything relating to changing their ID.

    I did give them aliases.

Found "initial control head ID" in the installation manual on MOL.
I had not gotten an install manual....I'm cleaning up an aborted installation by a Kenwood (!) dealer. All I got was a box full of radio pieces. No manuals.

    Thanks for the reply.

It's a mode you put each Control Head in when powering them up.

Something like orange button and left most soft key.

This will allow you to give each head an ID number so the drawer recognizes each as separate heads.

Yup...I found it. Radios are up and running.

Thanks very much for the reply.
