Default P25 Packet Data in old ASTRO radios

Found this the other day while doing some searching. Hadn't seen it before. Hopefully some of you guys find it interesting. It also answers WTF the "Enhanced Radio Control Protocol (RCP)" flash option did. It was one of those options which people blindly turned on, not knowing what it actually did -- much like whackers who enable NYFD tones in their 5000s. Whackers gonna whack.

After reading this document, it appears there's no way to send packet data between two radios. This would've been really quite nice. If anyone knows better, please share your info.

This is bringing up angry flashbacks of when my organization attempted AVL back in the 90's. Somewhere out there are ~150 VHF Astro Spectras with this option enabled covered with my blood and sweat...
