    Hi my friend

Yes, your firmware is ancient. Too old to use. It was released April 14, 2005 -- almost 8 years ago.

It's likely it's so old, that it cannot communicate with a modern UCM (with current firmware) and that's what's causing your reboot issue.

    This problem confuse me.
The radio doesn't install UCM and PHN6918.
I will try flashzap and upgrade the radio later.

The Flashzap upgrade method is not ideal in your circumstance. It may not upgrade the tuning partition and it definitely won't refresh the codeplug feature descriptor block (FDB) with the CPS H-Options file, as you don't have the iButton connected.

That radio is absolutely ancient. Using iButton for upgrade is the best choice.

Can he even use the dirty upgrade method with a W4 head?

Doesn't upgrade radio or control head.
