Default Icom IC-F5061 interface to Telex VOIP console

We have a Icom IC -F5061 attached to a Telex VOIP console. The console gets rec audio from pin 9 (disc) on the 25 pin accessory connector. This audio out is carrier squelch even though the speaker is muted until proper DCS is detected. This causes the dispatchers to have to listen to the repeater ident which is sent with DPL removed. Is there anyway to make the disc output of the F5061 work inconjunction with decoded CTCSS/DCS?

Ok I think I found the answer. The Telex cable for the IC-F5061 to the IP-224 has a COR input from pin 18 of the Icom DB25 accessory connector, but has a note that this COR logic only works for digital channels. The Icom has a COR out for analog on pin 21 which the Telex cable does not address. I will try moving the COR from pin 18 to 21 to see if that will solve the problem.

Is there another audio pin besides discriminator??? Not sure on ICOM but I thought discriminator is unsquelched audio.
Not so sure I would use DISC, it likely is unfiltered audio.

Sounds like COR is working, it is that your on the wrong audio pin.
Radio Referenced...Those who think they know it all are very annoying to those of use who do.

There is no other rec audio available on the accessory Jack. The Disc audio is demodulated and is after the squelch control but before the ctcss/dcs decoder. I would like to see the schematic for this Icom, but have not been able to find it on the web. This radio has separate COR outputs for digital and analog.

Check with Telex and see if they have an application note for this radio..

Also the JPS Cable sheets for that radio might help --

Already checked with Telex, they don’t. The Telex tech I spoke with said to go ahead and try moving the COR wire.

Thanks for the manual. Moving the COR from 18 to 21 and enabling COR and disabling LAM on the Telex IP-224 solved the problem. Thanks to all who responded.
