Default ASK to Legacy System Key flash code change

Silly question, what is the cost/process to change a flashcode on an APX6500 from an advanced system key to legacy system key? Radio has fw R20.35 currently so unspeakable tools is not an option.

Phone Moto or your (hopefully) competent dealer. Order the "QA01749-Legacy SW System Key Enable" option, but drop the "QA01648 Advanced System Key Enable" option. They'll send (I think?) a flashkey with the new flashcode. These two options are mutually exclusive, meaning you can't have both turned on at the same time.

Use Triptolemus' flash encoder to generate your new flashcode so you can provide your existing/desired flashcodes to your (hopefully) competent dealer.

Copy that! Thanks, Mars! Working on the competent dealer part now. Do you know what the potential cost would be around?

Sorry, no idea. I've never paid for a flashport feature. The last time I paid Motorola for a feature (RAS in two of my repeaters), they went ahead and made it a free option in a subsequent firmware release. Since then, I've been compensating myself for their fraud.

Someone should tell Motorola this. We are adding features to a customers fleet of APX8000s, and the new flashcode contains BOTH ASK and Legacy keys lol.. LEGIT FC ibuttons including the stickers with the matching FC. Absolutely ZERO quality control these days. They even sent a couple of iButtons with the incorrect model number.

    Platform: APX8000
    Flashcode: 9cX0E8-81H491-7

    Q806: ASTRO IMBE Digital Operation
    G996: Over the Air Provisioning
    H869: Hardware Multikey Encryption
    QA09000: Tone Signalling
    QA00570: Primary Band: VHF
QA00571: Primary Band: UHF Range 1
QA00572: Primary Band: UHF Range 2
    QA00569: Primary Band: 700/800 (Multi-Bit Option)
    QA00569: Primary Band: 700/800 (Multi-Bit Option)
    QA00583: Enable Bluetooth Operation
QA01749: Legacy SW System Key Enable
QA01648: Advanced System Key Enhanced Operation

    H38: SmartZone Systems Operation
    Q507: 12.5 kHz FCC Mandate
    QA00782: Enable GPS Operation
    Q947: APCO Packet Data Interface
    QA03399: Enhanced Data Operation
    Q173: SmartZone Omnilink MultiZone Operation
    QA00580: Enable TDMA Operation
    Q361: ASTRO 25 9600 Baud Trunking
    Q445: Fireground Accountability Software

In case you are wondering, the options seem to be tiered. We had to use an ASK on the radio even though it had SW keys enabled. We are (patiently) waiting for motorola to issue a new ibutton to remove legacy SW keys.
