Default QCII (Quik Call II) Signaling...How to?

I have two SM120 units together as a UHF repeater. I hope to pair this with an i50r autopatch controller. When everything is in, I'll hopefully be combining this all into one glorious Suitcase repeater.

For remote setup and knockdown, I need to send QCII or Quik Call II signaling to the repeater, as the SM120 does not support MDC signaling (or anything else).

    1. How do I transmit Quik Call II signaling? Ideally this would be from a portable radio.
    2. How do I (within the RSS) configure response to the QCII signal to trip/flip the alarm pin (no other functionality required)?

    Any help appreciated.

Or would I be better off finding a GM300 and using MDC1200? I have radios which can generate MDC1200.

More accurately, can anyone tell me how to actually implement this?

Thread moved into Infrastructure forum. Hopefully it has better exposure this way.

I don't see how you can do it with SM120 unless the RX radio has the optional signaling board installed. I would look for a GM300 or M1225 for your Repeater RX radio.

    Ok, that's what I thought.

With MDC1200 signaling, to trip an alarm, what kind of radio would I need for TX/what function would I enable?

My EFJ 5100 can generate an emergency but I assume that's only for dispatch receipt. Would it have any affect on a radio assigned to the same ID?
