Default Quantar VHF in 2M ham band R1 or R2

    Hey guys
I tried to buy a VHF Quantar R1 off pbay to use on the 2M ham band
but the deal fell thru. I have since been told that a R2 will work fine and
others say it must be an R1, which is hard to find. any advice would be
    Much appreciated.

I answered your question here: https://www.p25.ca/threads/2027-P25-...eater-question and another member also shared his experience.

I have worked on Quantars for years, doing a lot of alignment work and component level repairs. I don't post speculation. What are you actually wanting?
It is a fine thing to be honest, but it is also very important to be right
