Default When did Motorola start putting BRAVO122 processors in XTS5000's?

    As per subject..

Always wanted to know, I have done a quick search on here and google but its like looking for a yellow cab.

Given the wonky past of RAM22 processors etc, is there a way to find out which processor is in it, just by the manufacture date...

Like if i get my hands on a Model I, you can't just click 5 times on the side and look at the display....

I wonder, all of the older radios I'v seen with the RAM22 proc. had the model tag with the weird M logo and all the BRAVO122 units had the better looking ones, I believe. If that makes sense! I'll need to post some pics when I get the chance. Not sure if that's completely accurate but it's been my observation.

I've got an April 2004 XTS5000 with a Bravo 122 CPU, 100 percent factory, never been in to the depot. AFAIK, it's all original- boards match the serial number as far as date codes go.

Well, we can narrow it down then! My factory November 2003 5k has a RAM22 in it.

I think the date of manufacture table I have is a year out? Is xxxCDExxxx Mar 2002 or 2003?

The reason I think it's a year out is that I have an APX purchased new that the date code shows it was made exactly a year after I bought it according to my table!

    'A' started in 2000, so 'D' would be 2003.

I've received factory Moto products with serial number date-codes which are a month or two into the future. Marty Mcfly brought them back to me.

Hey Mars, if you have Marty handy, you could send him back and get him to tell Motorola on what features are actually needed in APX's (QCII)......

And I have an XTS5000 manufactured first half of December 2003 (xxxCDYxxxx) with a BRAVO122

I suspect there may have been a period where the two overlapped though, maybe a month or so (it depended on how the parts picker was feeling that day )?

Motorola post dates parts with the expectation that they will sit in stock for a period of time.
