    Default Tait System Key

Is anyone familiar with the structure of a Tait system key? A great piece of information would just be the file extension. I would like to work on building one to do some testing with.

Are the keys the same format as other manufacturers system keys?

No each different manufacturer creates the key to interface with their software and memory map for the radios.

From what I have read, the Tait System keys seem to be more complex than other OEMs.

Does anyone have any of these files to dissect and analyze?

Acutally from what I have seen EF Johnson is the most dificult key. Looking at the tait key with a hex editor, it looks like the first part of the file is the system data and the rest of it is permissions.

Try using search here with the key words Tait and system. One of the discussion threads was on SFE feature keys, there may be some similarities.

It is a fine thing to be honest, but it is also very important to be right

Could be dexter. The first step in decoding such things is to have a few examples for comaprison. Idealy a single change between files is best although with encryption even a 1 bit difference can make a file look totally different. I see that my comment in post 6 seems to be verified by your comment too.

As you can see the Tait seems to be a lot less complicated. The "BEE00_2A5" is the system The rest of it is the expiration date of the key and other permissions. The other thing is that EFJ designs keys for different product lines. The 51 and 53 series has one type of key and the Armada series has another type of key. It looks like the Tait key could easily be changed to create a new key. I just need another key with no expiration date to compare.

A couple of questions before I delve int the keys. I assume they are for the same sid 2A5. The EFJ key is a Armada series key? Its conciderably larger than the "dummy" keys posted. Finally the Tait key
