better still is it possible to wire the KVL directly to the R2014D D15 Secure Com connector

Service manual is horrible but here is what I found ...dd this once before to keyload from the SM to the older radios
    Pin 11 WE Write Enable
    Pin 12 KEY
    Pin 13 KID
    Pin 14,1 GND
    Pin 4 +5

Other stuff goes to the secure breakout box like bal in and out etc ...breakout box has some active components but never saw a manual for it

    I have tried a cable

    Pin 11 WE Write Enable
    Pin 12 KEY
    Pin 13 KID
    Pin 14 or 1 GND ( not both )

but could not get it to work. Do I have to bridge 4 and 5 together on D15? I know pin 4 on the D15 is 5v

    thanks

.That should not be needed ...the other connections on the 15 pin connector are for secure data in and out and a probe function ( balanced and unbalanced on both in and out )
Understand that the r200XD secure is the oldest keyloading protocol and may not be compatible with later radios or keyloaders.

If you are trying to keyload the internal hybrids you need to make sure they are the correct version ... usually you only had DES, DES-XL. DVP, DVP-XL and DVP-I unless you put another set in.

You can output a test key from the SM as well ...my need to select the encryption version / hybrid first for either operation.

Been using a T3011DX KVL and the SM supports DES, DES-XL, DVP, DVP-XL, DVP-I

attempting to load a DES key.

Im making another cable again. Do you know what pin 5 is on the D15? as I cannot find it in the schematic. What do you mean whith "Pin 4 +5" I know pin 4 is Vcc however im begining to wonder if pin 5 is some kind of detection pin to detect the Junction Box and enable functionality.

sorry for the mis-communication ...just meant to indicate that pin 4 was +5VDC not a connection between pin 4 & 5.

Looks like that version KVL should work. Assume you would select the DES hybrid on the secure screen first and then try the load.
