    Default PCTune Squelch Settings

I need a little insight from you guys. I'm trying to adjust the squelch thresholds on my EFJ 5100 because its way too tight and doesn't open to weak signals the way I'd like.

I'm trying to understand the Squelch tab of PCTune a little better, can anyone better explain to me the relationship between the Squelch and Unsquelch threshold values.

    EDIT:

I forgot to mention how I'm currently understanding these values:

1: Signal Level is above Unsquelch Theshold, Squelch Opens
2: Signal on an open squelch sinks below the Unsquelch Threshold, but is still above the Squelch threshold, Squelch Remains Open
3: Signal on an open squelch sinks below the Squelch Threshold, Squelch Closes

This is correct. The calibration procedure involves sending calibrated RF signal levels from a service monitor (I believe in the recent PCT, you are supposed to obtain a specific SINAD level).
