Default Spectra/Astro Spectra Consolette internal keyload cable

Anybody got a part # for the cable that runs from the drawer unit inside the consolette to the front of the consolette?

The BSM shows the cable but doesn't give a part number for it.

It would be nice to keyload the consolette without taking it apart every time

Forgive my ignorance, but you're not able to KVL via the mic port on the front? Or does the consolette have the same front housing as the Motorcycle radio, which blocks the mic jack?

It's in a remote mount configuration so the radio is loaded from the keyload port on the drawer.

Some consolettes have a jack on the front under the power led which you connect the keyloader directly to.

You cannot keyload them from the mic port, I'm not sure of the reason but maybe because of the AIB or TRC board being in the middle of them?

It's an extended version of the Spectra KVL "adapter". One end has the Spectra Mic type connector (but with the extra 4 pins that make it "special" for KVL), the other end is the usual 5-pin Hiroshima adapter. The only difference is they put an extra 6" of wires between them...

    Yup, that's what it is.

Now the million dollar question, what's the part number?

None of my Consolette manuals show the cable despite listing all the different encryption options.

I wouldn't mind finding out this p/n too. We could build our own KVL and FLASH cables, if we could only get the p/n for that stupid "complete" mic plug.

Search on MOL for the word "KEYLOAD" in the "AND" search, under description.

Quite a few results. Could be the p/n there...unfortunately, the inept people at Motorola have only labeled some of the items as "CABLE, KEYLOAD". Quite helpful, Motorola.

Also must love how you cannot include a 3-letter-word in your search, but they're allowed to have 3-letter-words as part of the item description.

    Thanks!

I'll never have to take my Consolette apart again.
