Lightbulb Channel (Personality) Capacity Hack for CDM Series (Waris)

    Hi all!

I am looking for info about channel (Personality) Capacity Hack for CDM Series (Waris MD/AA). These radios, like CDM1550 conventional, can held only 128 channels (personalities). But some other Waris mobile radios can held up to 255 channels (e.g. GM360 from EMEA). Also, CDM1550LS+ can held 160 personalities. Want to add 32 personalities or more to my Waris MDC fleet. I do have a lot of lab/depot tools for Waris, able to force any FW or codeplug, etc. Just need to be pointed in right direction. Thanks!

The easiest thing to do is save your tuning info and then just reflash the radio to 160 channel model radio.

What specific radios are you trying to hack? You can turn cdm750s into 1250s into 1550s with the correct tools and head swaps. You do have to pay attention to your tanapa suffix, and always back up your tuning values and temp comp data.

You need to re-read my question. I know how to hack radios. Usual CDM1550 has 128 conventionsl channels only. But I need 160.

If you will look in the samples directory of your CPS install, you will find sample codeplugs for multiple models in VHF and both UHF bands, and in both conventional and LTR or PassPort configurations that are 160 channel models. If the Feature Level (the 11th character of the model number) is either a 6 or an 8, it's a 160 channel radio.

    Steve, thanks for info!

Accordingly to US Waris LAB cpg library, FL8 related only to 4-line display models, but FL6 is dedicated to trunking radios (DP/DU protocols).

But I am playing with 1-line conventional (MDC) mobile radio, VHF, 25W (*25KHF9A*). Currentely it's M25KHF9AA5A model, but can do any other. Just need to find appropriate model #.

M25KHF9DU6AN & M25KHF9DP6AN are 160ch with LTR,MDC and QC. I cannot remember the Tampa numbers for the 25w units. I have 2 of the M25KKF9DP6AN that are programmed with 160 conventional channels(I don't use the LTR but they are capable ).
