Default Quantar band conversion R2 to R3

If one was to convert a R2 UHF quantar to a R3 unit, all that needs to be done is change the receiver, exciter and PA modules, change the code plug and tune the preselector.
Please correct me if I'm wrong! Is there anything else I should know about this process?

i have been offered a R2 quantar but I require a repeater to operate on frequencies around 483Mhz. I have also been made aware of a R3 quantar which is perfect but many more miles away.

Any sort of knowledge boost would be appreciated.

Yep thats right. Change the receiver, exciter and PA, tune the preselector in the receiver and you're away.

Theres no codeplug hacking required, the Quantar CPS is quite friendly and will let you enter in any combination of receive and transmit modules.

I highly doubt the R2 will work on 483MHz.
