    Default ASTRO25 Srec?

    Hello all,

How would one go about creating an S-Record for an ASTRO25 radio? I have not been able to locate any information on this so far. Does it require Depot? I can't seem to find a way through CPS.

    Thanks!

    Mark

Since we do not support any "unofficial" software releases. Your question cannot be answered.

I would expect the srecord structure for the ASTRO25 radios would be different from the ASTRO series.

    Astro25 S-Records are created a few ways.

1 Hack the software to save them as an srec
2 Pull the chip off the board and read it, saving it as a srec
3 Get some sort of developmental tool that is not available to the public to do it for you.
4 Reverse engineer format used to talk to the radio and write your own program to read the data and save it as a srec.

None of these are easily accomplished, but should you do one of them you will find the srec format and codeplug structure is totally different than the astro and older series.

Depot may have an option to do this, but I don't believe it works properly.

Dont be discouraged. It can be done.

This site was based on being open and informative. Maybe my first post was too vauge, let me clarify the answer you want is #3. I think you can put the rest together.
