Default Jedi display heat to fix ?

I was reading once about a way to fix a Jedi display by heating it with an iron. How do you do this, with it in the radio or by removing board ? Anyone ever done this ?

I did a search and come up empty.

I tried the iron and did not have much luck. Take a look at my post from a few months ago, hopefully it will help.

That thread has the info I need,it's worth a try. I have a handicapped friend that I got him a new JT1000 VHF some years ago and he still loves the radio. It's easy for him to program as needed so I would like to repair it at some point. It was just before or just after Moto dropped the JT's from production.

    Thanks
