    the Radios are ex WAST VHF radios .
    I have read the radios with RSS r05.04.00 = response codeplug to new .

    I have CPS 02.02.00 and CPS 02.03.00 both get the same response when reading radios.

    1= MCS2000 type MR304A/Model:M01KHN9PW5AN S/N 623SAE0790
    A}no user function provided to convert block type to block id with type 69 unpack failed.and on the radio display fail 01/90

    2= MCS2000 type MR304A/Model:M01KHN9PW5AN S/N 623SAE0785
    B}error reading from image when attempting to unpack radio wide unpack failed

    3= MC2100 type MR304A/Model:M01KHN9AN5AN S/N 204IUG1797
    C}no user function provided to convert block type to block id with type 0 unpack failed.

    Your RSS is ancient so do not use that. The CPS 2.03 is the latest and if they are truly MCS2000s should work. Are you sure about your programming setup? And FYI, over here in North America ATC usually means air traffic control.

    The third one seems to think its an MC2100 not an MCS.

    I think you're onto something. Now that we know the OP is in England, I'll bet there some Euro version of the MCS.

    What does field test show?

    in test mode i get the following
    Radio with MC2100 Head / 8202140U01 / MODEL=MO1KHN9AN8AN S/N=204IUG1797 radio working on ambulance freqs
    Radio with MCS2000 Head / 8202177U05 / MODEL=MO1KHN9AN8AN S/N=623SAE0785 radio working on ambulance freqs
    Radio with MCS2000 Head / / MODEL=MO1KHN9PW5AN S/N=623SAE0799 now has FAIL 01/90 on the display radio not working .
    the radios could be MC2100 with MCS2000 heads on I do not know.

    does anybody have a list of software that the MCS2000 and the MC2100 used from the start of production to the end of Motorola support and if possable whare I can acquire them.

    And FYI, over here in England ATC means air traffic control as well as Air Training Corps .

    Do the displays have yellow writing on a dark background?

    Pretty sure you have MC2100's and you'll need to source MC2100 software.

    You will probably need the GVN6012 CPS for the EMEA radios.

    I have look at the Motorola RSS radio programming software list in it is MCS2000 & 2100 series select 5 R02.11.05 19 OCT 1996 GVN6011W which i do not have .

    is there any way that i can tell which software that the radio have been programme with ? .

    any ideas where i can acquire the latest RSS software.

    as the radio are using 5 tone (select 5) i have come to the conclusion that they are MC2100 .

    or the radios have been got at using WOOKIE OR SKY WALKER software

    any help would be apperciated.

    Wookie 02.00 will program the 2100 series handhelds and mobiles, its CPS, software part number SDVN4274A.
    Looks very similar in appearance to IMOF Wookie for the 220MHz radios.
    There is also Wookie version 02.01 Mobius field programmer, circa 1994, I don't know that much about it, other then it was for the EU (German) market and I think only UHF radios (educated guess).
