    Default conventional but not trunking?

    I have an XTS-2500 that works with a P25 conventional talkgroup scan configuration, but am not having any luck getting it to work in a no affiliate trunked scan configuration.

    I have had a couple people helping me, and the codeplug sure looks right. Since there are no other 700 mhz Astro 25 systems around. I am not sure if I have something wrong with the radio. The question for discussion is why it would work in conventional and not trunking?

    I had a Spectra + that would do the same thing. I had another radio with the exact same firmware and flash in it. One radio would work and one wouldn't. All I did was clone the codeplug from the working radio to the problematic one. Just like you I created a scan list with all the voice channels of the system and it would work fine. But as far as trunking went it was a no-go.

    A Motorola 700 P25 Simulcast system:

    Now that you mention the codeplug clone... I remember when I was messing with 900 MHz GTX radios, the easiest fix for ones that would not lock where you wanted them, was a codeplug clone from a radio that did lock where you wanted it too.

    {Edit}

    Success! Turns out the problem was with the ASTRO 25 Channel ID positions.
    The first one needed to be 851.00625 and the second, 762.00625.
    The corresponding ASTRO 25 Control Channel ID number needed to be set to 2.
