    Default OOB hack for GP88...

I've checked the usual suspects for a solution to making my 450-512 GP88 work on 70 cm and was just wondering if any of you kids knew of an easier alternative to hex editing the .mdf file (or whatever). The easiest easier alternative is, of course, to just buy a 403-470 split radio. But I am mostly broke. And I enjoy a challenge. I am flying high on the recent success of hex editing my Saber RSS. The GP88/GP300 procedure seems so much more difficult, but maybe I'm over thinking it. I'm a champion at that.

for the GP88/Gp300 series there is no need to hex the RSS. you can do the OOB by holding down the shift key when entering the freq, but remember to release it for the decimal point. Ie 445.52500 is $$%.%@%)

Cheers for that - I * think* I tried that and it gave me some sort of, "hey - f**knuts! You can't do that!!!" message. Entirely possible I was doing it all wrong. I will hook all my stuff up and try again tonight...

This is confirmed working on all the dos rss. I have the gp300 rss and it works fine. if you have troubles you can post the old RSS files here (the radios are long discontinued) along with a codeplug and ill take a deeper look.
