Default New firmware & FPP available

So, it looks like Tait have released new firmware for the 9100 & 9154 series.

From what I can see, the firmware is v7.79.22. If anyone has a copy of it for both TM9000 or TM9154, I'd be grateful for a copy

I believe the new FPP has been written in something other than VB6 (ie its a complete rewrite) and is verison 9.21.00

I'd also like a copy of this if anyone has it

If the firmware is free I don't have issue with you asking for it here, but if FPP is the software Tait sells to program these radios you cannot ask for that here.

Hmmm - I'm not actually sure what the Tait policy is on this... I know they will sell you it on a CD - however I'm not sure if the costs are for the service of putting it on a CD, or if they charge for the software itself...

I believe the dealers get the firmware free from Tait, but again I am unsure what the official policy is.

EDIT: If someone from Tait comes across this (and I know you're watching boys!), then you can contact me via crc@crc.id.au and I'll clarify via some kind of statement what the go is with software / firmware for Tait radios.

I know Simoco offer the software for free (you just contact them for a web site login) - and I can only assume Tait would be the same - after all - what use is one of their radios if you can't program it?

As posted in my other thread:

If anyone does want to send me info, you can upload it anonymously to:

    ftp://www.crc.id.au/incoming

For a bit of extra peace of mind, you can use TLS/SSL on this server as well.

Once a file is uploaded, it will not be visible to anyone but myself - so you can rest easy that whatever is uploaded won't become public.

    Technical Note TN-1751c-SR
APCO P25 Terminal Firmware v7.79.22 and PC App v9.21.00
    13 June 2012

This Technical Note applies to the Firmware utilized in the TM9100 APCO P25 mobile and the TP9100 APCO
P25 hand portable radios referred to as subscriber units (SU).
NOTE: PC App v9.21.00 replaces PC App v9.20.00 released on May 11. See Section 3 - Issues Resolved under
    the heading PC App v9.21.00.

    Introduction
    NOTE:
APCO P25 subscriber unit Firmware v7.79.22 has been released, and is
intended to replace the previously commercially released Firmware v7.13.05.
Because of the extensive feature additions, customers should confirm suitability
of this release via trials and limited deployment before considering large-scale
    field deployment.
    Compatibility
    NOTE:
    • Tait PC Applications
    - TM9100/TP9100 Programming Application v9.21.0.4 (or later)
    - Tx9000 Common Calibration Application v1.2.0.7 (or later)
    • Supported Operating Systems for Tait PC Apps
    - Windows XP (32 and 64 bit systems)
    - Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit systems)
    - Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit systems)
    - Microsoft [.Net] Framework Client Profile version 4
Programming Application v9.00 (and later) and Calibration Application v1.1.0.0
(and later) require the user’s PC to have [.net] Framework v4 installed. It is
therefore highly recommend that an internet connection is available when first
installing these Tait PC applications as [.net] Framework cannot be supplied with
the Tait installer and therefore may need to be downloaded from
    www.microsoft.com. Also see TN-1466.
    Important Upgrade
    Information
    NOTE:
    • After a SU’s Firmware has been upgraded from v3.08 it is not possible to
downgrade to pre-v4.00 again. Refer to TN-1283.
    • Terminals must have the 32Mbit flash IC fitted. 16Mbit versions are not
compatible. To determine if the subscriber unit has a 32Mbit Flash IC:
    - Using a suitable terminal application, place in CCTM Mode (^%)
    - Send CCTM Command 139 <Enter>
    - If the response is “(CO1)”, the connected SU does not have a 32Mbit
    Flash fitted
    - If the response is either “7FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF” or
“7FFFFFFFFFFFFFFE”, the SU does have a 32Mbit Flash
    • The terminal must have its existing Programming and Calibration data-files
read in order to be re-programmed at the conclusion of the upgrade.
When upgrading from an earlier software version to v7.79.22 you must ensure
you follow the information in TN-1234-AN - APCO subscriber unit Firmware
    upgrade procedure.
    New Bootcode and
    FPGA
    NOTE:
At the same time this Firmware is introduced into production all SU’s will also be
upgraded with new versions of the bootcode (v2.12.00) and FPGA (v3.00.00).
FPGA v3.00 was implemented to provide improvements specifically for APCO
Linear Simulcast Modulation (LSM) network users and this is only supported by
bootcode v2.12 or later. It is only necessary to upgrade the FPGA and Bootcode
    if LSM is being utilized.
Please contact your regional Technical Support office if you are required to
perform this upgrade procedure on existing Subscriber Units.

I think there's some confusion in terms here...

Are we talking FPP as in Philips/Simoco terminology (programming software on your PC), or FPP as in Motorola terms (frequency entry from the front panel of the radio?)

I've been talking FPP as in radio programming software - not the motorola definition of FPP which is Front Panel Programming...
