Default Source for ASTRO Spectra flash cable connector

    Hi Guys,

I want to build a cable to upgrade the firmware on an ASTRO Spectra, does anyone know where to cheaply/easily source the connector that goes on the radio end?

Its the one that goes into this port.

use a astro spectra hirose KVL adapter/connector and the pins are regular pins from a DE9/DB25

I saw a hirose/spectra adapter for keyfill and it did not have the six pins in the middle, which are required for flashing.

@Matt and kw71, here's an image of the key loader adapter (Spectra to Hirose). As you can see it is easy to add the extra contacts. The correct contact types are in the accessories that come with every new Astro Spectra (those were the days) but looks like any crimp DB type female pins would probably work as well.

It is a fine thing to be honest, but it is also very important to be right

I don't think your's in a genuine Motorola one - apart from the molding differences it's missing the little rubber retention strap. Is it a third party one?

Thanks AS - I found a brand new flash cable on eBay for about $25 so I bought that instead of hacking up my keyload adaptor..
