    Default APX7000 Flashzap?

I have found plenty of information on the FZ method for XTS radios, but nothing for APX. Does an APX7000 have a UCM and could the flashzap method be used to upgrade it from R5 to R6, R7, or even R8?

APX radios have a MACE, which replaced the UCM for crypto functionality.

No flashkey is required to upgrade the FW in the radio or MACE, just the firmware file itself and the APX CPS.

    Current versions (for APX7000):
    Host R08.05.00
    DSP R08.05.00
    Secure R01.02.02

Do I need to use the regular or fz method to upgrade. The regular method is requiring a flash key, which I am sure has a work around.

The CPS can't see the radio when it is in FZ mode and the regular update method requires the flashkey. I guess my options are limited.

If all you are doing is upgrading your radio's firmware, no flashkey is required. Open APX CPS, go to Device, click on Radio Software Refresh, point it at the firmware file, and hit Refresh Radio.

Obviously for a FLASHport Upgrade you need a flashkey.
