Don't forget DES is also hackable in a matter of hours, but not many of us have the pockets deep enough to afford a Rivyera. Is ADP welfare encryption? Sure... But many system operators simply do not care. They just want the streaming to stop. And that's a quick easy way to do it. Especially if they already happen to have Astro25 gear. The agencies that are actually concerned about security are running AES for a reason.

Some of my customers run BOTH. AES for real security and ADP for the road crews and dog catchers, just to keep the Riff Raff out....

No Body is going to crack ADP its digital encryption

I hope hope hope HOPE you aren't serious. ADP is extremely weak encryption, with barely over 1 trillion possible keys. Even a modest home computer would have absolutely NO issue doing a brute-force attack on that sort of a key space. I couldn't imagine it taking more than a few weeks, IF that.

ADP isn't serious encryption. ADP is for users who either A) Don't want their stuff streamed on RadioReference, B) Don't know (or don't care) about better security, or C) are on a budget and want some kind of privacy.

I agree it's an excellent method to thwart the lunacy of online streaming.

Possibilities aside lets talk reality for common folk, what are the chances we'll see the ability available to software like GnuRadio?
