Has anyone ever seen a LEX700 in the wild? I originally read about it a couple of years ago but none of the information on the Moto web site has been updated.

I haven't seen any out there yet, if theres a major city with firstnet set up, I'm sure they will start popping up. Frankly, I think most PD guys will be sticking to old fashioned way for a few years before they start using that thing. Im half and half on it, i like where its going but I still have a bad taste in my mouth about it for some reason

I have a XTS4000 inbound and thought about the covert issue a bit. NEXTEL is a thing of the past (thanks to Sprint killing it, like everything they touch), so the radio looks silly today for that function. Even if they came out with a P25 radio that looked like a smartphone or iPhone, that someday will look out of date. Development cost for full featured devices is expensive, so I can't see anything other than a low cost secure bluetooth device, or better yet some other secure link technology connecting low cost "throw away" covert devices (replaced by newer looking devices) to a vehicle radio (or portable) with all the major guts in the long term investment radio. The LEX700 is a nice idea, but will stand out for covert ops. Even more so with future phone rollouts. Maybe if they made one of those huge Galaxy phones that looks more like a tablet stuck to your ear (just kidding). And who is building out this Band 14 LTE anyway? Don't tell me the cell phone carriers! I wouldn't put any life on the line of one of those networks.
