...but then when I tried to assign channels to my massive 250 member list, CPS flipped out. 50 seems to be the limit, as stated above.

Interesting. A CPS Bug, prehaps? 250 seemed like a lot compared to the other scanning modes, and you'd think multi-system scan would be the most demanding, i.e. have the fewest scan list members before degradation may occur in receive.

Try adding members from a different system. Like 50 each from 5 different systems. 5x50=250

Thinking out loud here, if it will really work a good test would be over in the National Capitol Region. If anyone on the board is on the various NCR systems with the APX radios who can massage the programming, this could be a good opportunity to see if it will behave as advertised.

See if what will behave?

I've got numerous systems in my radio and I'm able to scan all of them in one scanlist.

Cyrus,
Thanks for the info. I would have concerns of look back time using one scan list to look at (up to) 5 systems but logically you shouldn't be programming end user radios that way. I don't want to go off topic too much here.

Regards.

I've done similar to Jay. I have basically...
UHFCB
ASTRO SECURE
ASTRO CLEAR
Mixmode RX
2Meter Amateur
Marine
several various vote groups.

I could potentially have marine and amateur bundled in with CB on a FM clear which I do in my XTL/S's as 1st personality but I wanted to keep the MDC off them and still use it on CB. I also did it that way to split the groups of channels rather than rename the same bloody channel twice.

I don't like the MCS/APX layout, prefer the XTL/S but beggers can't be choosers apparently.

I can tell you I have a LOT more than 256 channels :).
