P25.ca is aware of the leak of Motorola's APX Depot R05.00.00.

As per our policy, P25.ca does not support or condone the use of such software. Furthermore, we are aware than many users of such software have already, or will likely "brick" their radios. We empathize with your situation. Currently there is nothing that can be done either by using DEPOT or other software which can recover these units. They will have to be sent to Motorola for repair; the explanations are your problem.

APX radios do not like having old codeplugs forced into them; i.e. a radio currently at R07.00.00 will not be happy when a R05.00.00 codeplug is forced into it. This is in part due to several factors: The codeplug structure changed radically around R07.00.00 and the firmware is considerably less backwards compatible than the ASTRO25 series radio. (This is mostly due to partition differences.)

Any threads started or other postings which relate to APX Depot operations will be deleted and your account may be terminated, depending on the circumstances.

I made this a sticky so as people potentially brick their radios, this notice will stand out.

A good idea. Perhaps others considering using leaked internal software will read between the lines and realize the potential to screw up a radio is very real and easy to do.
