APX Dual Radio Questions?

Hi,

A few questions on the dual radio APX setup:

1. Has anyone used one of these setups in the field and how well does it work in integrating two radios into one O7 control head (easy to use?)?
2. Can you add the required Flashcode option to an existing radio to either make it a primary or secondary radio or does it have to come from the facatory?
3. is an O3 control head in the works for this setup?
4. Can you add a DVRS to this setup?
5. Can you change a radio from primary to secondary in the field?
6. Can you order the radio to radio interface cable or does it have to be the whole kit?
7. The real question is ... if I have an APX7500, APX6500, and a O7 control head can I make a dual radio out of them and what additional hardware and software do I need to make it work???

Thanks sjxts3000 ... I did read that thread I am interested to find out if you can field upgrade the radios. I know the dual radio XTL5000's needed to be ordered from the factory and to my knowledge could not be upgraded in the field.

Yes, it can be ordered as a field upgrade option. You have to pick a "primary" and "secondary" radio but they can be changed either way in CPS.

Hardware-wise all you need is another control head cable to connect between decks. Regular GCAI remote cables can be used or you can order the special short cables in Jeff's post. The secondary radio's speaker audio will come from the deck through the rear accessory connector (or through the DB25 on the front) but you can use standard cables for that or roll your own. Siren and light control is possible, not sure about DVRS.

O9 is *supposedly* on the road map, but if I had to wager a guess about O3 support I'd say no. Of course, when it comes to Fed secret squirrel stuff anything is possible...
