I have a 2010 and 2015 APX7000 both have same basic features purchased.
The only thing that is different is the 2015 has BT enabled. But I do not believe that is it. I see no option for enhanced audio.

On the 2015 radio in the CPS under Radio Wide>Audio Options>Audio Configuration Level you can set it Basic or Enhanced.

The 2010 radio does not even give me this option.

When set for enhance, it will let you mess with TX audio equalization.

I was really looking forward to messing with under Radio Profiles>Audio Settings>TX audio equalization settings on my issued radio.

I do not believe this is a hardware difference?
Both have same Host/DSP 13.05.00, Secure Ver. 01.05.14.
Secure hardware is different SHWY05 vs. SHWY03 for 2010.
Model Numbers are the same.
Flash size 64meg both the same.
Flash Type is different P30 65nm dual vs. P30 130nm dual for 2010. Tuning version the same.
Processors are the same.

The CPS help mentions nothing about "When the radio is a model / option capable"

It does state " This is a setting which is only available in Full View.

UPDATE!! I found under Show feature set the 2015 has under Extended Feature Set there is Audio Enhancement set for YES, the 2010 radio does not show this enhancement. And thus the reason for my issue, is this a purchasable option? The 2015 radio original Options list on the package when the radio was purchased does not list this in the options.

2015 FlashCode 1012788014829

Surprised no comments on this, this Audio enhancement makes for much improved TX audio, IMO. You can actually set TX for XTS audio profile.

Update! Case is opened with Moto.

I will keep everyone posted.

On the 2015 radio Under RadioWide>Audio Options
there is a box called Audio Configuration Level you can set it for Basic or Enhanced.

When set for Enhanced you will have the ability to adjust Low, Mid and High for TX audio in Radio Profiles>Audio Settings

Oh and FYI set view for EXPERT.

My 2010 radio has none of this. And there is no option (Flash) for this enhanced audio feature. Support was surprised my 2010 did not have it. Due to the way R13.05.00 release notes read along with the help in CPS.

That field is not present at all in my CPS, but I am using 13.00.01. In my Radio Wide->Audio setting there is "RX Midrange Equalization", "Concurrent RX Enable" and "TX Digital/Analog Balance", and interestingly I don't see the "RX Midrange" selection in yours. This may be another feature in the codeplug that if upgraded from an earlier version does not get added by later versions of the CPS if missing. In my case, it's probably just because I'm using an older version of CPS than you are.

My 2010 with 13.05.00 only has "Concurrent RX Enable" and "TX Digital/Analog Balance".

So I guess both my 2010 and 2015 do not have "RX Midrange Equalization" like your radio. What does help say on that feature?

I am starting to think this is kind of like a new bill going thru congress, they kinda just throw things in there that have nothing to do with the bill. LOL If you know what I mean.
This enhanced audio feature maybe only available if you purchase enhanced data,LOL Example only of course.:)

Side note: Do you understand what the difference is between Purchased Flash vs. Used in Codeplug Flash.
Example it has Legacy SW Sytem Key, but says it is not used. Legacy SW does work though. FYI. this option comes standard now on new radio purchased.
If a person wanted to add Legacy SW key to a 2010 radio, you would probably have to purchase it. Something that is standard now...LOL

The "RX Midrange Equalization" help says "Enables modification of the midrange analog receive audio levels in the radio. This feature applies on a radio-wide basis." It is just a checkbox, mine is checked by default (?). Maybe the feature is supplanted by the "Audio Configuration Level" stuff, perhaps?

The extended features of mine don't include the "Audio Configuration Level" option, it may be new to 13.05.00 or is it 13.10.00 CPS? I am interested in how these get activated, the help says "Extended Features are similar to the purchased Feature Set, but without an associated cost." Hmmm...

I am curious to know why some 7000s don't have this option, I have a 2010, 2013, and a 2015 APX7000, all with latest firmware and CPS and all three (3) radios show this feature in CPS, I had no idea this was an option?

Check your radio's I am curious if the have the feature. Especially your 2015!

This feature seems to make such a good improvement in TX audio (they like the XTS setting), we were going to enable it on all of our APX users radio. But as you can tell.......no go, for some of APX's.

OK, I think I've finally got my head around this one. The "Extended Feature Set" stuff is a list of what is USED in the codeplug, all of the features there are already in the codeplug if the item is listed, and the "Yes" or "No" status merely reflects whether or not they are turned on. So, that means if the codeplug was created with 13.00.01, then it doesn't have the "Audio Configuration Level" option at all.

I had an idea. (Oh no!!) :D Maybe try the export trick I mention in the other post to see if you can migrate the feature. Click on the "M" logo, select "Export", and just select the "Radio Wide" field. Then click the "Export" button, and write an appropriately named .XML file. Then, open your older radio codeplug, and go to "Import", and select the XML file. See if it adds the missing feature!

Yes, all three (3) have the feature selection in CPS under radio wide > audio features and yes it turns on the features to be set in the profile section, never really paid much attention to this feature, since each radio had it. It does help to have expert view on.

Can you give us your flash code of the 2010 and 2015 pretty please?
Also is it in your Radio Feature Set as shown in post #6?

I don't think flashcode is relevant at all here, because from the description, the "Extended Feature Set" doesn't depend on flashcode options, or rather there are no options in the flashcode that affect them, apparently. The extended Audio feature is most likely added to the codeplugs if you do a flash upgrade using CPS newer than 13.00.01, I am guessing.

Too bad the export trick didn't work. Maybe you can downgrade your radio to firmware 13.00.05 and bump it back up to 13.05.00 using the newest CPS and it might add it, perhaps?

Now can I downgrade an APX? I have never done that before. Or I guess wait till the next update comes out.

DAMN I love P25.CA Props to MARS and the fellas that run this site.

Now to call MOTO and update and close the case. LOL

Cool! I don't know if you can downgrade, I hope so. I figure backing up to 13.00.05 from 13.05.00 would be a minor enough diversion to not lose any other important stuff in the process. Hopefully it will let you do that, otherwise you (and I) will have to wait until a newer version of firmware drops.

UPDATE!!!! Was able to rewrite 13.05.00 into the radio again using CPS13.01.00 and now have the features.

At first I did not think it took because usually Update takes a long time, it basically said Update for about 5 seconds then booted up. FYI.... did not have to reload keys. Which makes sense, it only updated some small part of the FW, I am guessing.

Apparently (the only thing that makes logical sense) I had used the previous version of CPS to update to 13.05.00 FW.

I feel like a dummy!!!!

Thanks ALPHA!

Maybe a note could be added to a sticky in the APX forums. DO NOT update firmware without using the latest CPS, if you want the latest features. LOL

FYI, Alpha I still do not show "RX Midrange Equalization". Hmmmmmmm

But I have Enhanced Audio NOW!

Must be a feature that goes away in the latest CPS I am guessing.
