Successfully made it to V13.00.00. No change in the display issue however.

Have you tried setting the Display light time setting time to infinite? Might not fix the root cause but will let you see what's on the display at all times.

I am ordering a detailed service manual in the am. I have tried the infinite backlight to no avail. It seems that it is exactly 3 minutes from the time you power up the radio to display going blank and no backlight. I assumed it was not hardware since it is exactly 3 minutes each time. I appreciate all the help. I am completely new to the APX series. This seems to be the only problem it is having presently.

Don't bother buying it, it is available for free here.

You might want to poke around in the Radio Profiles section and see what your radio is set for. The other reality check is to create a default blank codeplug and load that to the radio and see if the problem disappears.....

Hopefully you have saved the default blank codeplug which came with your radio originally. You could try loading that and see if the behavior continues. Outside of that, the answer to your question is not permitted to be discussed.

What version of CPS are you guys using to FW refresh the Radio?

FYI

You really need to use the latest CPS when flashing/refeshing.

Current latest, CPS 14.00.00
FW 14.00.03

If you have already refreshed the radio to the latest FW release using an older version CPS, you will need to reflash the radio again, but using the latest CPS.

I know from experience here is the thread http://communications.support/threads/9980-APX7000-no-Enhanced-Audio-setting!

I am not sure if this will fix your problems, as the Op mentioned he was using the latest CPS ("CPS Version is the most current, I believe it is 20.01. It is the most current from MOL.") I'm assuming he made a typo on the CPS revision.

I saved the codeplug that was in this radio when I purchased it. Sorry, I wasnt aware I was asking a forbidden question but I assume I understand what that may imply. I do not have the capability unfortunately. Current firmware in the radio is 14.00.03, and I am using CPS 14.00.00. I have not had time to do any hardware checks but am firmly of the belief that if it were a hardware issue, it would not happen each time at exactly 3 minutes +/-5 seconds and that most likely is me lol.

It appears that it is happening when the display backlight goes to dim mode on my radio roughly 3 minutes, exactly as you have mentioned.
I agree that it is a hardware problem, as there are no settings that turn off the LCD, even surveillance mode does not turn off the LCD.

Sounds like a trip to Depot is in it's future.

When you say it goes to dim mode, is the backlight going off or just dimming? My backlight is set to 15 seconds which at that point BL goes completely out. It is 2 and 3/4 minutes later the display goes out altogether and will not return. If it is supposed to dim at some point, it is not doing that at all.

If I set my display backlight for permanent front display backlight under radio profiles, it dims at almost exactly 3min.

Update.... disregard, it dims (as in not completely off) at what I have set in in display time mine is set for 60sec.. I apologize ,,I received a phone call right when I was testing it earlier, and got side tracked, and thought 3 minutes had passed.:bang: The dimming occurs if you set permanent front display backlight under radio profiles.
