Out here in Bagram air base some of K-9 team members want to put both APX7500 and APX6500 as a dual radio set up on to one control head.
radios all ready have the options for dual radio set up.

The question is can this set up run on O5 control head, instead of O3 control head?

Any guidance would help.

thank you

JC

APX dual radio can only be done with O7 heads.

You can use the E5 head as well. I personally wouldn't hold your breath on support for other types of heads being used in a dual radio setup.

orangekitty56, yes in deed it is nice head same form factor as O5 wish I could get my hands on one. and try it out though i do worry about issues with any firmware mismatch between radio and the CH. since i got of the Harris side of the fence i am learning the ways of moto

Both decks should be the same firmware. The E5 will update when the radio is turned on. I played with the E5 and it was ok, but lost my keypad so went back to the O7

One thing I am hopeful for in a future firmware update, is the use of full color features of the E5 in the dual radio configuration, instead of just black and white.
