Audio Accessories and Compatibility

Hey all, I'm new in the DMR world and the MotoTRBO line. Perhaps this is a simple question, maybe it's complex. Are APX 7000 series accessories compatible with the XPR 7000 series? For example can I use a NMN6271 on a XPR7550?

Mostly. It varies from accessory to accessory.

I can't speak for the NMN6271 specifically, but what you'll generally find with incompatible accessories like speaker mics is that the basic functionality, like PTT, microphone, speaker etc will still work, but extra functions such as special buttons, displays etc will not.

I will speak to the NMN6271 as I have this RSM and use it on a daily basis with my XPR 7550. It works great! The mic is very light and feedback from button press is just as it should be. All features including PTT, side button, emergency button and volume control work completely.

Funny, but true.
I have found out, that MotoTRBO series enhanced mic is NOT compatible with ASTRO25 radios, while ASTRO25-series enhanced mic IS compatible with TRBO
