I am connecting an extra speaker and aux mic to the XTL-2500 using the accessory connector. All is good EXCEPT:
1) PTT on the mic only keys the radio when the mic is in the metal mic clip. When the mic is removed from the clip the radio does not key.
2) I can not get any voice to be transmitted, obviously when the mic keys.
I am using an HMN4609C microphone with an RJ-45 connector with the following connections:
Mic Pin 4 (red) to Ground (Accessory Connector Pin 1)
Mic pin 5 (Black) to Aux Mic (AC Pin 23)
Mic pin 6 (Blue) to PTT (AC Pin 16)
I have read that there might be some programming necessary to change the Aux Mic sensitivity. I would assume this was problem if it wasn't for the strange PTT behavior.
Do I need to do something with the Monitor pin (3) on the mic? As I see it there are only 4 useful connections on this mic (pins 3-6), while there are 6 wires in the connector...any idea what the others are for?
