Beeping Scan

My new program/cpg for my XTS2500 has picked up an issue where when it plays/rx's a channel from a separate zone/scan group it beeps at the start of every transmission. This gets annoying after a bit.

I've tried to replicate it by including other channels not in the same zone or scan group but they won't beep. I've looked through my options everywhere and cannot find the offender. It's just a simple soft beep every time it stops on something.

There's nothing obvious that I can see and I don't remember it doing this before programming on scan. ATM my pain killers are seriously fogging my ability to see/comprehend as well which is not helping.

So hoping it's something simple. TIA.

Either you have priority scan turned on, or if it's a talkgroup type of scan list, then it's probably a clear alert. As of firmware 19 and later, I think, you can optionally have the radio beep every time a non-encrypted transmission is received. The alphabet-soup agencies keep it on as a reminder they are on a clear channel so don't say anything Uncle Sam's grandmother wouldn't want to hear. I believe if you have the dreaded H02 or H04 options turned on, it may switch on the clear beep permanently, IIRC.

Thanks... I'm on FW12 so that's out and conventional only (just starting to look into the trunking side so more questions to come later on that).

I've just had 02 and 04 enabled to attempt to test this feature between my Astro25's for security but despite the menu options being there nothing is happening (may only work on hardware encryption rather than ADP/25 clear?) so potentially a start.

BUT it's only certain channels this is happening on which is why I cannot put my finger on it. Anything I can tx on in FM/25clear or ADP doesn't have the issue. It seems to be RX only chanels if that makes a difference to any of the features? Though I'm sure the issue existed prior to them zones being ticked rx only. FPP zones don't beep, my CB zones don't beep nor does my 70cm zone. Just emergency services but some are 25clear and some are FM so nothing obvious there. If it was a 02/4 or priority thing I'd have figured that ALL channel it lands on would have the same effect?

And yes I have channel sitting 1st priority with most recent active 2nd priority but have had that for ages.

try temporarily enabling tx on the rx only personalities. And see if the beep dissapears.
