I have look at CPS for a few days and cannot find how to enable FPP on a APX7500 mobile radio. The radios Flashcode is 9Q1498-001490-6 which decodes with FPP active. I thought it would be in Features under Radio Wide but its not there. Any thoughts or help would be great, as I am stumped.:(:(:(

Thanks,

Bill

What firmware is in the radio? If memory serves, FPP wasn't available when the model was first released.

Under Radio Wide, Features - do you have FPP Enable checked?
Radio Ergonomics, Controls, Menu Items - do you have FPP added to the menu?
Zone/Channel Assignment, the zone you wish to edit, FPP/Protection - is FPP Enable checked?

I'm also curious, is this a legit radio or have "things" been done to it? You shouldn't have both multikey and multikey with OTAR enabled simultaneously in the flash... I'm also wondering if ASK Enhanced Operation may have something to do with this (I have no experience with this option).

Firmware 11.00.00...factory radio not an ATL or parts radio. No option to check FPP under Radio Wide. Since I cannot enable FPP under Radio Wide it does not show up under Menu Items or Zone/Channel Assingnment. I have a few other radios in different configurations and all have FPP enable check box under Radio Wide.

Thanks for your help PhaseII....You are correct....the radio was Depoted and the paid for flashcode does not match the used flashcode. I have not seen this one before!!! Is there a way to get the paid for flashcode into the radio rather than the used flashcode???

First of all, the FLASHcode would be 9Q1498-001490-7 with an upper case Q; lower case q is not valid for that radio model.
Well, I learned something new today: flash codes are case-sensitive now (!) Is that a legit thing now or just a quirk in Peter's decoder?

So what's the use of multi-key when there is MK with OTAR? Is it the OTAR option requires then the use of a KVL where MK will just suffice with CPS and ADP? The MK option come up recently for mine in discussion as I went to put in a second ADP key and couldn't (locked to 1 key). I'm trying to wait till my radio is out of warranty before I consider adding multi-key and FPP.

Those options predated ADP. Back in the olde tyme days of Sabers, there were several models of secure modules, single key, muti-key and multi-key w/OTAR. They had increasing complexity to handle basic encryption with simple SecureNet or the more complex ASN SecureNet, which included the OTAR stuff. They priced the modules accordingly. That concept hung over to the newer models where you could have no option (single key included for price of UCM), or buy either the Multi-Key or Multi-Key w/OTAR if needed as additional flash code options.
