Has anyone paired a PAN/COTS Bluetooth headset with an APX Model 1.5 portable?
Is it even possible? ...or do Model 1.5's only support LF MPP type devices (i.e. Motorola Mission Critical or Bluetooth RSM)?

Yes.

Without looking at my codeplug at 3am, pairing a BT device to a APX 1.5 is simply a matter of assigning the appropriate BT functions to the side buttons. BT ear pieces and BT CPS programming are both possible with the 1.5.

If you would like the specifics, I can peek in my codeplug later.

Great! Would love to see the details.

BTW I typo'd the subject. Should start with COTS.
I'm trying to pair a standard Bluetooth headset with a model 1.5 APX.

OK... I will look at it tonight. The short version is you have to program a BT on/off, and a BT visible button.

I found it kinda tricky... But was able to get it working.

So once "paired", you can ditch the "visible" button and just keep the on/off one, right? Or theoretically, since BT is always on by default, you can ditch that too....once pairing is successful. That would be ideal.

So, I have...

Side Top Button: Bluetoof on/off
Side Mid Button: Bluetoof Inquiry

If you read the help files, you'll discover that both of these functions have a press and a long press command associated with them. I believe you will need BT Inquiry around long enough to pair your device(s). Once completed, you can remove BT Inquiry and replace it with a more useful function.

As I said, you kind of have to fiddle with it, but it works.
