Hello. I hope you can help me.

I have a DGM8500, What cable do I need (part number, model) to program the radio? And what software?

I have an old cable Motorola HKN6184C, does it work?

Thanks in advance

What happens when you try it?

I haven't tried yet beacause, right now, the cable and the radio are in different locations. I make this question in order to know if it's useful to send this programming cable to the people on field...

You need the HKN6184C. This is the USB-->GCAI cable.

You can also use a rear USB cable such as the PMKN4016B (also programs the DGR6175 repeater), or you can build your own rear USB cable by using a standard USB cable and a 26-pin accessory connector/plug kit. There's no special dongle in the cable.

As for software, I'm unable to locate the part number for MOTOTRBO LA CPS, but that's what you'll need for that particular radio. The current version should be 12.1, and current firmware R02.50.04.

Mars beat me to it but I tested a '6184C and a 32 channel EMEA version of the XPR5550 and it worked fine. I normally use the '4016 rear cable.
