DIM on XTL - Radio forgot the setting after power cycle

Hi all!

I do have a lot of XTL2500 and XTL5000 radios. Most are ok, for e.g. any of mine XTL2500 remember DIM setting after power cycle. But also I do have XTL5000 with genuine O5 head (remote config) and it forgets the previous DIM setting after power cycle, and always power up with maximum backlight intensity (but I prefer lowest intensity). It's very sad, but CPS have nothing on this. Kinda strange how one of most advanced radio doesn't have DIM control from CPS.

But my question is about something else - why some radios remember last DIM setting, but some are not?

Any ideas how fix that's O5?

From what I have seen it only applies when the radio is operating with a W series head. There is a check box under Display & Menu > Advanced > "save dim state". However I have noticed my XTL5000 with O5 remembers the dim state whenever I restart the radio. I do have it set to power on with ignition sense, not sure if that makes a difference. Also the "save dim state" option in the CPS is grayed out.

Oh... This one is new to me! I missed this checkbox when I read through CPS help. But as you said, it's greyed out in all my XTL radios! Also all of my vehicle radios connected to ignition sense.

Inportant correction. I mixes up a few radios, so correct question is:

XTL5000 radio with M5 modified head (jumper changed from M5 to O5 position) forgets previous DIM setting. It's in remote head config with ignition sense enabled/wired.

Factory XTK5000 + O5 setup works fine.
