Hi all,

Does anyone use DM4601 (sorry dont know what the equivalent XPR number is) on Connect plus ?
We use them, and are missing calls, at times the ID number shows, and no audio. Other units in the fleet hear the call. it happens to all vehicles at random times, think everyone has been affected by it at some stage including the base set so cant be coverage.

the fact some radios receive the call suggests the system is running ok.

Have upgraded firmware on OB and Radio, and now 1.5 compatible firmwares.

Swapped all radios out for DM3601 and fault disappeared. Have had codeplugs checked from Motorola, and no fault found with them.

Reprogrammed to put into my Truck and fault continued, when never had an issue with my 3000 series.

4 site connect plus system, and units have been locked to 1 site as a trial, and fault still exists,
Also shifted all units to our Southern area site, from the Northern Region and fault still exists regardless of which site it is on.
All sites are running Connect plus 1.4a, and have been told no need to upgrade infrastructure to 1.5

Anyone else experienced anything similar ?

It is very important to keep your Connect Plus firmware in the radios to the same version as the towers are running. Moto has a list of buggy things that the Connect Plus firmware does at each revision. I know that one version of radio is showing the symptoms and another version of radio is fine, BUT have you verified that there is no co-channel or adjacent channel interference? Have you verified that the data links between the towers/sites are stable? FB

Thanks,

We had them both running 1.4a and then was told that its not compatible with Connect Plus on the DM4601, so we upgraded radios to version 1.5 firmware 2.13.12 by memory.
This had no change, and if we have to upgrade network to 1.5 then its going to cause some large issues with our older radios out there, several hundred of them will need updating.

We have swapped to DM3601 for this customer, and they have noticed instant improvements, seems it is related to DM4601 only.

They were locked to our northern site only, to rule out any multisite problems. as well as trialled on southern region site also. fault exists on both.
Fibre connection between sites has been good
