Does CP200d (and related mobiles) allow digital and analog in same radio?

Since the title probably sounds like I'm asking three or four things possibly, here's what I meant: I'm unable to tell from the spec sheet on these models or from searches of these forums whether I can program some channels digital and some analog in the same radio. A discussion with the sales guy here brought this up. I thought it was just a matter of setting the personalities individually, but he maintains that the entire radio has to be set to do either one mode or the other? Clarification, please?

Yes it should do both. I don't know why it wouldn't. The sales guy may be confusing you with the analog only models. If the radio does not have digital added as a feature the radio will only do analog.

We just got 8 new CP200d's here at work a few weeks ago. Mixed mode isn't an issue, I have a mix of simplex and repeater analog and digital channels in mine. Just wish they would do enhanced privacy, but... what do you expect from a bottom tier radio.

You do need a license for digital channels. The base model is analog only.

That's correct. In our case the radios came with digital already activated, but it may well have to be purchased separately.

CP200d radios with the model number AAH01QDC9JA2AN came out of the factory with digital functions enabled and CP200d radios with the model number AAH01QDC9JC2AN come with analog only, but can be upgraded to digital.
