Duplexer for MTR3000

Hello,

I've got a question about the MTR3000 Repeater and a Duplexer.

I need to buy four MTR3000's, two of them will work as a base station, but the rest will work as repeaters.

The question is: Do I need to buy a duplexer separately for the repeaters?

Thanks in advance

Are they going to separate sites, or the same site?

If they are going to separate sites, then yes. They all need a duplexer.

If they are going to the same site, they could have individual duplexers turning the rooftop into an antenna farm and potential interference generator, OR you could put in a xmitter combiner and rcvr multicoupler.

And this applies whether it's an MTR3K, or any repeater, or multiple base stations at a single location. Physics is blind to make and model.

Thank you very much. They're going to separate sites.

And thanks for the additional info/explanation, it could help me in the future.

Do NOT scrimp on the duplexer, just like the antenna, is a very important part of your radio system.

You did not mention what frequency range for your needs.

Another question...

The frequency range for the repeater is 147-174 MHz (100 W) and will work with Tx=163.750 MHz & Rx=157.975 MHz.

I am considering a duplexer with this specs:

-Range: 144-174 MHz
-Frequency Separation (min): 4.5 MHz
-Maximum Power input: 100W
-Cavities: 4
-Insertion loss TX/Ant - dB): 1.5 dB
-Insertion loss (RX/Ant - dB): 1.5 dB

My doubt is with the Power Input... will it work? or do I need to use a duplexer with a higher Power capacity?

If you're using MTR3K, then a 100W duplexer is correct. Or can you get higher power repeaters in Mexico? As far as I know 100W is the model maximum.

De nada. If you have any questions about combiners or multicouplers, let us know. Good site management can be expensive, but worth it because it improves performance.
