What exactly does this option in the CPS do? I've searched for it on these forums, and on Google and came up with nothing. Just curious.

Look in the CPS help Files, it explains it resonably well.
Be carefull, you can really degrade the performance of the radio.

I did, and it references several places that factory override data can be entered but I could not locate them. I assumed there would be a new menu, tab or window available somewhere to enter those things. Based on the help file, there is nothing there that I would have any use for anyway, so I'll put this to bed. Thanks.

I always assumed this was some kind of "custom patch" facility, so that Mother could supply (encrypted, no doubt) patch files of some sort that would alter some of the fixed (lab) non-user alterable parameters in the codeplug. They came out with firmware and CPS updates so often this probably never was needed in practice. If it was ever used, it probably was to supply a large customer with an emergency patch until the firmware/CPS update came out that would include it.
